Cherry Picker

In less than 15 minutes this attachment converts a mobile crane to a cherry picker. It is completely self-contained, with batteries, DC motor driven mechanisms and hydraulics.

Automatic levelling ensures that the gondola maintains remains level through the full range of movement of the crane boom. The gondola can also be swivelled on its vertical axis through 90 degrees. Interlocks and other devices guarantee safe operation, and in the event of systems failure, the level and swivel functions can be fulfilled by independent manual mechanisms.

The versatility of having one machine fulfill two functions (crane and work platform) is well worthwhile in any situation, but especially so in remote locations, such as maintenance of high voltage electric transmission lines. As well as avoiding the capital cost of an expensive high-reach cherry picker, transport and associated costs were also eliminated by this attachment.
